Learning How to Spot Potential Tire Problems

As the only part of your vehicle that makes contact with the road, properly functioning tires are imperative to a safe and comfortable ride. The easiest way to determine if your car's tires need to be replaced is to check the tread. This can easily be done by measuring the vehicle's tread depth with a penny. After placing a penny head down in in the grooves, you will know the car needs new tires if you can see the top of Lincoln's head. It is also crucial to regularly check tire pressure to ensure that the tires are properly inflated. If the pressure does not meet the manufacturer recommended levels, the tires are at risk for uneven wear and tear and premature balding.
