Understanding Radiators and Engine Cooling

A car can overheat for a variety of reasons. For this reason, it is important to have basic knowledge about the cooling system and radiator of your vehicle. The radiator is what allows the coolant to pass through the middle of a set of tubes to release heat to the cooling fins. If you do not have a properly functioning cooling system, heat levels have the potential to damage your car's engine. Head gaskets can blow and engines can fail when your cooling system isn't working properly. A properly functioning cooling system circulates the antifreeze/coolant and ultimately dissipates the heat away from the engine.

It is recommended that you have coolant replacement performed based on your car's factory-recommended maintenance schedule. When you follow the regular maintenance of your vehicle's radiator and cooling system, you are ultimately preventing your car from overheating. This also saves you from the potential of having to pay for costly repair services due to the engine overheating. Aside from this, it will also keep you off the side of the road.
